The practitioner places their hands gently on or above your body in a series of hand positions, often moving over the entire body, head to toe, back and front, spending more time on areas that need special focus. Reiki may be done sitting or standing, anywhere, for any length of time.

There are particular protocols for emotional issues or even distance energy sessions.
